"Never Regret Something That Once Made You Smile"

For each project I had to complete a Concept Book - highlighting my key influences, colours, fabrics and ideas.

For my Blossoms and Blooms project I chose to make my concept book in knitted samples of the wool that inspired the whole colour scheme for the project (first photo). I included several pages on my favourite patterns, inspirational photo’s, fabrics e.t.c.

For my Post-Modernism project I chose to create my Concept Book in the form of a Wonka Bar (second photo). I was really happy with this element of my project and had lots of fun trying to create it :-)

These are some of my background designs for the Post-Modernism project. I did embellish into the majority of them but the photo’s I took came out too blurry.

I am happy with how they turned out, but if I had more time I would love to be able to go back into them with more of my drawings and motifs.

I recently discovered Marble paints and to be honest, I got a bit over-excited about them. I spent a whole night creating tons of different colour and shape marbled backgrounds for my Willy Wonka project - using the colours and wackiness of the films to inspire me - completely covering my Mums living room floor in paper!

These are a few of my favourites :-)

These are some more of the drawings I did for my Willy Wonka project. I was really inspired by the Willy Wonka gate and candy cane tree, due to their wacky nature. I also made these mosaics to create a more abstract effect.

I recently rummaged around to find this piece in my wardrobe - something I made during my A Levels - as I was asked to create an image on Eating Disorders for Wessex Scene.
I really like the detail I put into the belt and the message it conveys about Eating Disorders and the related symptoms, and think it’s probably one of my favourite pieces I’ve made. Its inspired me to try to recreate such detail in my current projects :-)

I decided to experiment with melting lollipops for my Charlie and the Chocolate Factory project and these are some of my more successful ones :-)

My latest university project is based around the art movement Postmodernism. I’ve wanted to base a project on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory for a while now, and this seemed the perfect opportunity. I’ve also brought mosaics into my work after being inspired by the beautiful mosaics in Tottenham Court Road tube station.

This is definitely my favourite project so far! Eating Wonka Bars and watching chocolately films is a lovely way to do ‘research’ :-).

These images are the beginnings of my project :-).
